Our members wear many hats. They’re talented artists, savvy salespeople and wonderful stewards of their communities. So far this year, they have participated in multiple stewardship events across the city. They watered newly planted trees and removed invasive species at Big Marsh Park and gathered garbage along Montrose Beach.

Envision Unlimited is fortunate to be celebrating its 75th year, and we would not be where we are today without our unique, dedicated community of support. There are so many examples, including most recently our very own Reyanna Johnson being named DSP of the Year by The Arc of Illinois.

When it comes to getting outside and enjoying a beautiful Chicago day, Jenny Achuthan doesn’t need much coaxing. In fact, she’s often looking for ways to make new connections and try different opportunities. You could say this zest for life played a role in her involvement with Envision Unlimited.

We’d like to extend a warm welcome to Dr. Reginald Richardson, Sr., Ph.D., LCSW, our new Mental Health Division Director. He brings 30+ years of experience to his new role, in which he oversees nine assistant directors and a variety of community-based programs that are designed to promote choice, independence, inclusion, psychological recovery and wellbeing among Envision Unlimited clients.

Summer is in full swing and nothing sounds more relaxing than a nice, peaceful vacation. However, you tend to avoid family getaways due to a loved one with autism. You’re not alone. Avoiding travel with a loved one of any age with autism is quite common.

When we say our 300+ direct support professionals (DSPs) are the best, we mean it. On behalf of everyone at Envision Unlimited, we’d like to extend a hearty congratulations to our very own Reyanna Johnson for being named a DSP of the Year by The ARC of Illinois, a disability advocacy organization.

At Envision Unlimited, there has always been a light shining from within to guide the work we do on behalf of people with disabilities. We take our role very seriously to illuminate the stories of our inspiring members, compassionate staff and generous donors and volunteers.

Does someone in your life have autism? According to new data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in March 2023, 1 in every 36 children has been identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder. That’s an increase from 1 in every 44 children.

When it comes to employment, people with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DDs) have historically faced a lot of discrimination. As a result, significant barriers to employment remain for people with disabilities even in the modern job market.

Envision Unlimited has a legacy of innovation that has enabled us throughout our history to evolve the kind of care we provide to people with disabilities. We even added a new role to help us continue to drive the full spectrum of empathetic care and services thousands of members and their caregivers depend on every time, everywhere.
