Clarrisa Cortez has always wanted to make a difference in the world by changing children’s lives. Joining Envision's Foster Care Program as a caseworker has been an ideal way for her to achieve her personal mission. Through the program, she supports foster parents as they provide a safe and appropriate environment for children and focus on the overall wellness of the children as they help plan for their future.
“There is no better feeling than seeing children happy and knowing they are loved,” said Clarrisa.
“Every day at Envision is different so I’m continuing to learn and do my best, absorbing all the knowledge and understanding that my colleagues have about the Foster Care system so we can positively influence and change lives for the better.”
Her supervisor, Debra Montgomery nominated Clarrisa because of her outstanding work with children and foster parents and says she goes above and beyond to ensure the youth on her team are safe. “She has a such a strong rapport with both her foster parents and youth,” Debra noted.
Frequent feedback and expressions of gratitude from attorneys, supervisors, directors, and foster care specialists keeps Clarrisa motivated in her quest to grow as a caseworker. “The best part of my job is being part of a staff that cares for these children. Everyone is determined to find a forever home for each child. I wanted to make a difference in life. With Envision Unlimited, we are doing just that.”
