We are excited to announce that the Weaving Mill, in partnership with Envision’s Westtown Artist Residency Project, is welcoming three visiting artists who will work with clients this summer. This collaboration is made possible by Propeller Fund , an organization that supports small, self-sustained artist organizations to engage with a Chicago’s larger artistic community.
These visiting artists will travel from across the country to work closely with Envision’s artists. Each month from July through September, a different artist will conduct unique collaborative projects and workshops at the Weaving Mill. Learn more about the artists by reading their bios here.
The Weaving Mill is a small studio within the Westtown facility that creates limited runs of material production and projects. Within the studio Envision clients participate in skill-building sessions that focus on measuring pattern pieces, cutting, sewing and creating art pieces with textile materials.
Envision Unlimited Art Studio is a program run for our client artists who practice their skill and craft in a community setting. The Art Studio facilitates an open environment equipped with materials, tools and expert guidance that helps enable each client to fully express their artistic talents.
This residency allows opportunity for our clients to be recognized in mainstream artist community, as partnerships are formed through programs like this. Welcome residents! We are excited to have you enrich our Arts Studio with your individual style of expertise.
