We hope you enjoy reading our 2016 Annual Report!
These three words form the core of who we are and what we do at Envision Unlimited. We repeat these words like a mantra because they capture the zeal with which our clients pursue their endeavors, be they related to employment, advocacy, the arts, or other means of self expression.
This year marked a tremendous period of growth in our programs and services, with expansion in the number of Host Families and the formation of the “Envision for Freedom” advocacy group among the highlights. Even with these successes, however, we never lose sight of the need to innovate in meaningful ways for our clients and their families.
In 2016, Envision was selected by the Illinois Department of Human Services to implement an innovative new residential program designed to stabilize individuals with behavioral challenges. Our Short Term Stabilization Homes will combine intensive staff support with evidence-based treatment in a small group environment. The goal is to prevent hospitalization or placement in a state institution, and to help individuals transition back to a stable living situation in their communities. We’ll be sharing more as this promising new program progresses.
As we look ahead to ever greater accomplishments by our clients, we pause to recognize that none of this would be possible without your support. On behalf of our passionate team of staff, volunteers, and board members, we extend our gratitude for another transformative year at Envision Unlimited.
Every day our clients prove that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities desire the same things as everyone else: choice, independence, and inclusion. Together, we’re making that possibility a reality. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
